The flag retirement box is in the administration / sanctuary building at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 13000 Blues Farm Road, Laurinburg, NC 28352. Leave your flag in the box — no need to speak to anyone or fill anything in.
The unit accepts all flag material types. You do not need to know what yours is made of; the Scouts sort them.
Cotton and synthetic flags are handled differently — both with the same intent.
Cotton flags are properly retired in a dignified manner by the Scouts in the unit, in the traditional ceremony.
All synthetic flags become part of our pilot program with Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium, placing flags with our fallen veterans for their final journey together.
Upon completion of the pilot program, flags of all materials may also be dropped off at 601 W. Church St, Laurinburg, in the Troop 420 flag retirement box in front of their Scout Hut. Until then, please use the box at Trinity Presbyterian Church above.
